Make Money Online in 2009

So 2009 is here, are you ready to design the life you want? Are you ready to make money online?

IMPORTANT: I am not selling anything!

You don’t have to worry about that, just sit back and read this article.  I know you’ll find it informative and it will help you prepare yourself to make money online in 2009.

For years I jacked around with internet marketing.  I dabbled here and there with no clear direction.  This post isn’t about providing direction, however, (some of you may want that and if you investigate around this site, you can find the detail to help.)

This article is about identifying the profit model you want to use to make money online for 2009.  And going back to my statement about dabbling… isn’t it time to stop that and make real money online?

Remember success leaves clues.  All you have to do is pay attention.  Let me explain.

My business partner and close friend stopped by yesterday evening.  In fact, he was coming into town and called me about stopping by.  To make matters even better he said he would stop by and pick up dinner for my family.

Cool!  (We live in the country and don’t make it to the big city very often! :-D )

Anyway, Jerry showed up with food in tow.  Delicious!

After dinner Jerry and I sat down to reminisce about the past year.

See the funny thing is that we really haven’t paid attention to our business over the past few months.  Sure, I’ve checked our stats and the cash flow but haven’t really sent out any emails or rolled out any new projects.

Ok, this is the point that you think….”this guy is lazy!”

My answer to that is yes and no.  Yes I’ve been distracted for the past month but I’ve focused on my family.  And before I took a little breather I was running on all 8 cylanders.

The turning point came about a year or so ago and it happened because we got FOCUSED!  We didn’t discover some secret formula, although some of the techniques we use have helped. In fact, the use of tools to help automate is important.

At this point I want to reiterate that I am NOT SELLING anything, this is information for your consumption.

How did we get focused and what steps have we taken to design our lifestyle?

This could be a 100 page article if I listed them all in great detail, so I’m only going to bullet them out and provide greater detail in subsequent article posts.

Getting Focused:

1.  We stop chasing after each new product and opportunity that was being released – When you dabble you float without a rudder.  Jerry and I got clear on what we wanted, and clear on the business model we felt was best suited for us (I’ll share that in a moment);

2.  Determine what mailing list to stay on.  I unsubscribed from most and kept only the ones I felt were essential.  This is key.  everything else is a time waster and a potential bank account siphone.

3.  We became clear on what we wanted to accomplish each day and worked our #%@& off to achieve our daily goals.

4.  When I was making just enough….I outsourced any job I could.  Jerry and I had to.  We couldn’t keep up with all that needed to be done.  In the past, I figured out that when there was too much to be done, I would become overwhelmed and wouldn’t get anything done.  It would sap my motivation.

Designing The Lifestyle I Wanted:

1.  We determined how we wanted to build our business and what profit model to use.  This one is huge, in fact I’m embarrassed to say this, but it took me several years to figure this out because I didn’t realize how important it was.  Again, this step helps you focus and focus is what is going to increase your income.

2.  Properly preparing the tools you need to support your defined business model.  I believe in automation, without it you can’t properly leverage your business, i.e. products.

3.  Find a product and utilize an effective business model to generate income.  Apply, time tested marketing techneques to explode your income.

This article is long enough at this point.  I will be posting more detail very soon.  If there is something specific you want to learn about first then read the next sentence.

If you’re interested in the detail and you know a specific piece of information you want, then please leave a comment indicating which one is most important to you and I’ll post an article sharing that detail.
